There are an estimated 10 million children worldwide engaged in some facet of the sex industry.
In India (where I am going on outreach), the federal police say that around 1.2 million children are believed to be involved in prostitution.
In Thailand 40% of all prostitutes are under the age of 18.
In Vietnam there are 20,000 known child prostitutes.
In Peru there are 500,000 known child prostitutes.
In Brazil there are 500,000 known children living as prostitutes, but it is estimated that there are 1.5 million more unaccounted for.
In Ukraine 40% of the prostitutes are between 11 and 17 years old.
In Australia there are 4,000 children living as prostitutes.
