Technische Werke Ludwigshafen AG (TWL) is running a pilot project on the decentralized load control of a local power grid to explore the potential of new digital technologies. The project is based on blockchain technology in connection with smart contracts. PwC experts are applying their expertise in the areas of project planning and digital services to support TWL with this endeavour. The objective of the pilot project is to analyse the potential of the technology in the energy sector and reveal any technical, financial and regulatory aspects and challenges.
